Don’t forget winter can be a wonderful time to visit the Peak District. The walking is as good as ever, especially on a crisp clear day. At the moment we have snow and everywhere looks beautiful. Then a cosy pub for refreshments – there are so many good ones round here.
A lot of the houses are open:
Eyam Hall, Hardwick Hall and Little Moreton Hall are all open Weds through Sunday. Chatsworth is open every day of course, and you can buy delicious food at their farm shop. Their cheese is outstanding, and home made coffee cakes the best ever.
And a trip to the factory shops in the potteries can be very profitable!
